Skill Levels

Choosing the right division helps everyone have a better game. Use this guide to find the best fit for you or your team.

Find Your Best Fit

Skill levels are based on player ability, experience, and comfort with the sport.

No skill designation. Players of any ability are welcome in open divisions.

Most players come with experience in organized sports. Players use basic tactics, and like to compete at a faster or consistent pace.

Rating 8-9

Advanced

Players posses sport-specific skills, have significant experience, and know how to adapt to the game with strategy.

Rating 9-10

Competitive

Players typically have club or varsity-level experience, possess strong technical skills, and demonstrate advanced strategic play. This is our highest skill level.

Recommendations

Use these tips when choosing a division for yourself or your team.

The 65% Rule

If more than 65% of your team fits a certain skill description, we recommend registering your team at that level.

When In Doubt

If your team is between two divisions, we generally recommend choosing the higher division for a better overall league experience.

Fair Play Comes First

Higher skill levels do not mean more aggressive play. SSC encourages fair play, respect, and fun across every division.

If your team placed in the Top 3 in a previous season, we recommend moving up to the next skill division. SSC may also move teams up or down based on past standings, current results, and on-site staff feedback.
